As the GaDOE celebrates National Arts in Education Week, September 11-17, MCMS wants to highlight our band, art, and music teachers, Ms. Klein, Ms. McGouirk, and Ms. Monahan! From the GaDOE, "We recognize the talents and contributions of theatre, chorus, band, and art teachers and students. Through fine arts education, students learn to solve problems, make decisions, think creatively, and articulate a vision. Students gain a creative and competitive edge because these programs allow them to imagine what might be possible. In addition, art classes give students increased self-esteem, self-discipline, and the responsibility to complete a task from start to finish." Thank you to our Arts teachers! #mcmsbulldogs #nationalartsineducationweek #theartsrock
FFA would like to invite everyone to the Monroe County Lamb Show tonight!
These students have been practicing extremely hard and have been traveling all over Georgia and the southeast! We have about 20 students showing this year and are HOPING to have a show out from administration and board members again!
The students would LOVE to have teachers there to support them and see what they do on a regular basis! Showing livestock is an everyday commitment for these students considering they have to feed them before and after school as well as practice with them!
The show will start at 6pm and will start with the elementary school showmanship (you should see how cute our little kindergarten students are out there) then move into middle and high school showmanship. After the students' showmanship classes, we will have the ADMIN SHOWDOWN!
Hope to see everyone there! Please contact Ms. Lampert at MCMS with any questions!
