Why March 21? The date represents the unique triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. By rocking your wildest socks, you help spread the message of inclusion and celebrate the amazing individuals who make the world brighter.

Please join us in congratulating 7th grader, Exie Ivey, 2024-25 Monroe County Spelling Bee Champ! And, congrats to all of our MCMS District Spelling Bee participants! We are proud of your performance and how well you represented MCMS!

Students enrolled in the Monroe County School System were entered into a Christmas drawing on December 16, and today, two lucky students from each school received Christmas gifts from Malik Herring and Desmond Williams. As they are both busy at this time in the NFL season, their sweet moms delivered the blessings on their behalf to MCMS students, Chyanna Batchelor and Melody Herndon, both of whom were overwhelmed by the surprise and the abundance of gifts. We cannot thank these two hometown heroes enough for the generous way they pour back into our community and our students.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Leah Skinner, our most recent recipient of 13WMAZ's My Teacher is Tops! Nominated by Braev Bogle, Mrs. Skinner teaches Math, and her students unequivocally believe she is the best. Congrats, Mrs. Skinner, and thanks for representing MCMS so well! Tune in to 13 WMAZ to see the coverage of this exciting presentation!

With upcoming exams on everyone's minds, you may have some questions about how the schedules, exemptions, and times will work. Please refer to the document emailed to all MCMS parents on Thursday, 12.5, or go to the link in the comments, and read the document in its entirety.

Thank you to community business partners Dr. Clell Morris & Forsyth Dental Center, United Bank, & MacFoods for kicking off American Education Week at MCMS! Our staff thoroughly enjoyed the food truck and the cookies, and we all so appreciate the support from these sponsors! #aew
