Meet your MCMS School Council representatives!

Christina Barfield has two kids in Monroe County Schools and is a former teacher in the district who now owns her own insurance and retirement planning agency serving Middle Georgia. She is honored to serve as the chair of the MCMS School Council and encourages parents to “reach out with any observations, concerns, and celebrations that you might not feel comfortable taking directly to teachers & admin.”

Annie Biers is married to Michael, and they are raising four children, all of whom attend Monroe County schools. Annie also owns Arena Counseling in Forsyth, specializing in child and adolescent counseling.

Dr. Kevin Floyd is the associate dean for the School of Computing at Middle Georgia State University. He has four kids; two attend Hubbard Elementary, and his oldest son is a sixth grader at MCMS.

Lauri McBrayer and her family have been in Monroe County for three and a half years. She has two daughters in the Monroe County School system and is excited to serve on the school council for MCMS for the next two years.

Sherri Wynn is in her 23rd year of teaching, and while most of her time has been spent teaching math, she has also taught science, social studies, and ELA. She has three grandchildren currently attending Monroe County Schools.

The council had their first meeting the Friday before Fall Break, and everyone is looking forward to a productive year ahead!
